This page explains the small files (cookies) and browser storage that glengarryclothingco.ca uses. You choose whether to allow analytics cookies in the banner at the bottom of the site, and you can change your choice any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Necessary (always on)
These make the store work. They don't track you across other websites.
- gcc_consent: remembers your cookie choice. Kept 12 months.
- gcc_customer: keeps you signed in to your account, only if you sign in. Kept 30 days.
- Stripe (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid): set by our payment provider during checkout to prevent fraud.
- Your cart is saved in your browser's storage (not a cookie) so it's still there when you come back.
Analytics and advertising (only if you accept)
- gcc_vid: a random number that lets us recognize a returning browser, so we can count returning visitors and see which links, searches or emails led to a visit or an order. It doesn't contain your name or email, and we don't sell it or share it with advertisers. Kept 12 months.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram, cookies such as _fbp) and Google Analytics / Google Ads (cookies such as _ga and _gcl_au): tell us which ads lead to visits and purchases. They're only loaded if you accept, and Meta and Google handle that data under their own privacy policies.
If you decline, nothing is sent to Meta or Google, and we still count visits without cookies: an anonymous code that changes every day, plus a visit number that's deleted when you close the tab.
